A simple what I eat in a day. I would love to know if you guys enjoy this video and the way its filmed. I personally sometimes love music instead of me chatting the entire time, ahaha. Im currently dealing with some hormonal changes and seeing a professional, therefore I’ve had to take a break from being fully vegan and introduce fish into my diet, hence the salmon. Besides that I love eating plant based and can get quite obsessed with snack brands, healthy treats, and creative recipes.   • Lol attack of the vegans! You would think a lifestyle filled with so much โ€œcompassionโ€ would mean people would exemplify just that. I was vegan for 3.5 years and it was an amazing, transformative experience but I eventually decided it wasnโ€™t how I wanted to eat any longer and thatโ€™s ok.   • It's always really disappointing when someone says that they stop being vegan for health reasons . It's like an oxymoron. And I'm curious, what type of specialist is telling you this? Is it about calories or nutrition? There's better ways to increase both if that's the case. And why would you take nutritional advise from a non-vegan specialist? As a vegan you should understand that you are already surpassing their nutritional standard. Don't let their bias misguide you! There is nothing specific about animal protein that would help with hormonal balance, in fact it's the exact opposite. Nutritionally, salmon offers protein, vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids, but is the worst source to get these compared to the other options available. I'm sure you're aware of the countless sources of plant proteins. They are the same exact amino acids found in fish and if you want to simplify you can even buy a blend of sources in protein powder form if you are concerned about your diet lacking and want to ensure you're getting a complete profile. There are numerous cruelty free sources of Omega 3s from algae, flax, hemp, chia, walnuts, ahiflower etc. I have a feeling it's not about those nutrients though and also doesn't explain why you are eating eggs, again, not good for hormonal balance. Find an accredited ND with actual nutritional knowledge. Any doctor who actually deeply knows about nutrition will recommend a vegan diet. You know most doctors know nothing about nutrition, it's not part of of their curriculum or where they make money, and even the information taught to dedicated dieticians and nutritionist is outdated and bought and paid for by the meat and dairy industries, so you have to find someone who isn't a brainwashed basic b. It's really hard to find a good doctor, which is why it's important to educate yourself on nutrition so someone doesn't mislead you and steer you wrong with misinformation about how you need animal protein in your diet. That's not nutritional advise, that's their personal bias. Have you considered seeing an herbalist? Shatavari, maca, chaste tree berry…just a few hormonal balancing herbs. Turkey Tail, Reishi and Maitake mushrooms, since you mention liking and wanting more shroomies, all help with a host of nutritional health benefits including hormone support. Also vitamin D is a fundamental hormone that everyone should be supplementing with more and broccoli sprouts for detoxification, balance and a slew of nutrients, vitamins and minerals for balanced hormones. Any good ND would be recommending these things across the board. I've deeply studied nutrition for a decade and a half, it's why I became vegan, how I make a living as a consultant, and personally has saved my life… so I know my stuff. And there are also a million other equally important reasons to be vegan and not compromise on that standard and values. Hopefully this helps you with your journey.

  • Would love to know more about your hormone journey and why you were recommended to add fish into your diet. I'm also plant based and have been struggling lately. I'm seeing a specialist but they haven't recommended that as of yet.

I actually prefer the chatty one because I love your personality and value what you say but Iโ€™d honestly watch any video you upload so this kind with the music only is fine too! Sending you love as you navigate your health journey! I was vegan for 5 years and like you, had to reintroduce animal products because of health issues and recs from my doctors. I actually feel a lot better now

  • Maybe keep the title to 'favorite snacks' as the vegan part could be misconstrued as you eat fish. It's like eating steak and chips and saying it's vegan because you have salad. Also, have you watched seaspiracy? Might be a good wake up call after seeing you eat fish, and the amount of plastic you purchase :/
