Moong Dal Recipe – Indian Vegetarian Recipes

This is a Indian Vegetarian Recipe.

Dal is a very popular dish in South Asian cuisine especially among vegetarians, with moong bean being one of the common varieties to make dal. This is made using fewer spices compared to other dishes, but it is generally accompanied with a tarka to enhance the flavour of some spices. Moong dal is a great dish to make for parties but definitely comfort food for your weekends.

Cooking time: 1hr 15mins
Serves: 5-7 people


250g moong daal (aka mung beans)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp red chilli flakes
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
2 garlic cloves
1 inch of ginger
2 green chillies
2-3 tbs olive oil

5 tbs olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin powder
3 dundicut chillies

Handful of coriander
