Bitter gourd is Karele. Lauki is called bottle gourd.
1 C bitter gourd, 2 C yogurt. 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp Dal masala: (2Tbsp cumin powder, 2 Tbsp black pepper & 1 Tbsp black salt) 6-7 dry mint leaves, 1 tsp cumin seeds ROASTED, 1 pinch hing.
Shred gourd and place in a pressure cooker with 1 Tbsp water. Cook to the 1st whistle and turn off & let the pressure out immediately. Drain and squeeze excess water out Beat yogurt until soft. Add gourd and roasted cumin seeds & hing. Some add a little sugar or a little red chili powder.
Garnish with the dal masala sprinkled in a circle on top and place a couple of fresh mint leaves in the middle!
