How to make Thengai Sadam / Coconut Rice – Vegetarian Recipes


Cooked Rice : 1 cup
Grated coconut : 3/4 cup ( cook with little salt)
Green chilly : 2
Red chilly : 1
Cashew nuts : 1 tbp
Mustard : 1/2 tsp
Urad dal : 1/2 tsp
Channa dal : 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves : few
Ghee : 1/4 tsp
Salt : as needed
Oil : 1 tbsp

Heat oil in a kadai add mustard, urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, slitted green chillies, red chilly, and cashewnuts.
Fry well till the dals get golden brown in colour.
Add grated coconut to it and stir well till coconut gets slight brown colour and add little salt to it.
Add ghee and mix well.
Now add cooked rice, mix and serve with papad..
