Once upon a time, I was in San Francisco and had the Fermented Tea Leaf Salad (Lephet Thoke) at Burma Superstar. Tangy, tart, crunchy, savory and herbaceous…It was the best salad I’ve ever eaten. This dish is my vegan twist on those unique flavors.

Thank you so much for this recipe. I love Burmese Tea Leaf salad. I am going to try this for sure…. I hope I succeed in fermenting the tea leaves.
Well that's certainly a different twist to the traditional tea leave salad . Never had it with so many fancy ingredients before . Tried it and it was rather good , although I still seem to prefer the actual original ones better .
u have to add mince garlic and sesame oil when fermenting tea leaves.thx u for sharing our traditional tea salad
I've been to Myanmar and had this salad 100 times, they do NOT put romaine lettuce on it. Also, your dish looks nothing like this salad….no idea what it tastes like.
Mine caught fungus after two days :/ yes i kept i out of direct sunlight
First time I try tea leaf salad, sooo good. Kale salad is pretty awesome too.
I rate tea leaf salad as 1A. and kale salad 1B. That's how both of those salad are very delicious.
