RECIPE DESCRIPTION:
Ingredients
Ghee 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cloves 5 Small
Cinnamon 3 Small
Bulgar wheat 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Lapsi)
Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Cashew nuts 10 Gram
Raisins 10 Gram
Kesar 5 Gram
Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Almonds 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), slivered
Cardamom powder 1 Teaspoon
Directions
MAKING
1. In a pressure cooker on medium heat, melt ghee, add cloves and cinnamon. Stir in the lapsi and roast it on a low to medium heat until golden brown.
2. Once it is golden brown, pour water, add cashew nuts, raisins, kesar and mix well. Cover the cooker with the lid and cook the lapsi for about 10 whistles. Once done, remove the cooker and set it aside to let the pressure come down within the cooker.
3. Once the pressure comes down the cooker, open it and fluff the lapsi with a spoon. Stir in the sugar and mix well. Turn on the heat to medium and cook for 25 minutes or until the sugar melts and the ghee separates from the lapsi making the mixture thick.
4. Once the ghee separates from the lapsi and the lapsi is thick, switch off the heat and get ready to serve.
SERVING
5. Serve the lapsi hot in a serving bowl garnished with some almonds and cardamom powder.

I'm a bit skeptical about the number of whistle. You said 10 whistles! But if the amount of water is double only isn't it too much?
Thanx…keep liking!
I really like ur videos .. u r an awesome cook ..
YOu most welcome…keep enjoying!
Thank you Bhavana for this video!!
Hi, it was great when I cooked in open pot.. But literally it was a great flop when I followed quick version. I cooked organic dalia this time.. Whether its a problem? And I just added sugar after I heard 10 whistles once it cooled down.. But then I noticed it was uncooked.. Partially it was cooked.. So when I added sugar to that, it becomes really hard.. Just thrown with a bitter heart 🙁 help me what made wrong here.. Otherwise have to follow open pot 🙁
Thanx again!
It was really awesome! Turned out great.. For 5 people I made! Great hit! Btw, how do u slice or chop ur almonds and other nuts nicely as shown here? Regards, Prabha Vinod
Hi, I'm gonna try this for a party! Hope will turn out great .. Also I want the recipe for sukhadi.. Can u give me the recipe only to my mail.. Regards Prabha Vinod
Hey Bhavna! Its lovely to watch all those great recipes….though I'm a big Sanjeev Kapoor fan, what I like about your show is that u show those vegetarian recipes with ingredients found in US stores. Keep up the gud work.

Hi Bhavana, the quick recipe is very helpful in less time. But can u please tell that what is the brand name of the pressure cooker?
Hi Bhavna, great recipe. Just aquick qs., if I wat o make I with milk, do I just substitute the same quantity as is water but can I pressure cook or it will need to be slowly cooked..thx
Oh wow I have never seen such a small pressure cooker. Mine is a T-Fal brand and I have had it for about 18yrs and I love, Love, LOVE my pressure cooker. People are afraid of them but with a little knowledge it will be completely safe.
yum
Interesting recipe!
Lovely recipe, Bhavna! I've been watching you for years. I would like to know where you got your pressure cooker from please. Also, if my pressure cooker doesn't whistle (it rocks back and forth), how do I time it accordingly? Thank you!
