Masala Khichdi – मसाला खिचड़ी – Easy To Make Simple Homemade Main Course Rice #Recipe

Masala Khichdi is an easy to make homemade rice recipe.

1/2 कटोरी मूँग दाल
1/2 कटोरी चावल
1 टमाटर
1 पियाज़
धनिया पत्ता
1 कटोरी उबली हुयी सब्जियां ( आलू , मटर , ग्वार फली )
2 tbsp घी
1 tsp लहसुन का पेस्ट
1 tsp लाल मिर्च पाउडर
1/4 tsp हल्दी पाउडर
1/2 tsp गरम मसाला
1/2 tsp काला नमक
सुखी लाल मिर्च
2 लौंग
2 दालचीनी
1 tsp जीरा

– Mix rice and moong dal together with water and turmeric powder.
– Pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.
– Heat 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of clarified butter (ghee) in a round bottom pan.
– Once its hot, add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves and dry red chilli.
– After few seconds, add onions, coriander leaves, chopped tomatoes.
– Add all the spices – garam masala, red chilli powder.
– Add black salt and regular salt as per taste. Cook this till the tomatoes turn soft.
– Add the pressure cooked rice and daal mixture.
– Add water and mix it well.
– Add all the mixed boiled vegetables.
– Add water as required. Cover the pan and let the khichdi simmer for 5 minutes.
– Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with roasted papad and mango pickle.
